Humane Society’s Volunteer of the Year
Megan Rawie, office manager for University Printing Services, has been named a Butte Humane Society Volunteer of the year and was honored at the organization’s Heroes for Animals Recognition Dinner. Rawie has been volunteering at the shelter since March 2009, and her activities include fostering kittens, adoption counseling, and working special events.
Rawie said, “I volunteer because I have always loved animals, and volunteering has allowed me an opportunity to help the animals as well as give back to the community.” While working as a volunteer Rawie fell in love with a pit bull mix, Moose Montana, and adopted him to join her family that currently includes three cats. Rawie is also treasurer of Chico State Friends of Animals. |
