Chico State Student Wins Kruschke Special Prize

Megumi Ito received the $100 Special Prize for the best performance of a solo keyboard work by Domenico Scarlatti at the 12th annual Earl R. and Marilyn Ann Kruschke Prize in Piano Performance Competition April 3. The special prize was sponsored by the Music Teachers’ Association of California, Butte Chapter. Jared Pierce of CSU, Stanislaus won the $2,000 first prize and Elisabeth Neff of San Jose State, the $500 second prize. The late Earl Kruschke and wife, Marilyn, created the competition in 1998. This year’s artistic director was Natalya Shkoda, Music.

COB’s Second Annual Student Showcase Competition

On April 8, nine COB student club teams made presentations to a panel of business professionals serving on the College of Business Advisory Board. Those judges selected the top three teams, who then repeated their presentations at a dinner event in the BMU auditorium that night for more than 100 guests. After this final round, the first-place team was Project Management Group. Net Impact won second place, and the American Marketing Association won third place.
