Pamela R. Johnson and Susan Gardner, Management, had "Domestic Violence Invades the Workplace: Strategies for the Global Business Community" accepted for publication in the journal Women in Management Review, Vol. 15, No. 3.
Benjoe Juliano, Computer Science, had "The Cognitive Sciences and Computing with Words" accepted for publication as a chapter in Computing with Words to be published by John Wiley & Sons in June.
William Korte, Chemistry, had "Reactions of Sulfides with S-330, a Potential Decontaminant of Sulfur Mustard in Formulations" and "Analysis and Stability of the Candidate Sulfur Mustard Decontaminant S-330" published in the December 1999 issue of the Journal of Applied Toxicology.
Jeff Livingston, History, had a book review of The Education of a Senator, about Everett Dirksen, published in the spring 2000 issue of Journal of Illinois History.
Shekhar Misra, Finance and Marketing, had "Cross-Cultural Variations in Loneliness: Implications for Marketing" published in the Proceedings of the Seventh Cross-Cultural Research Conference.
Turhon Murad, Anthropology, coauthored "The Postmortem Fate of Pat Gregory: A Disinterred Native American" published in the Journal of Forensic Sciences, Vol. 45, No. 2, 2000. Murad and Jason Wiersema, Anthropology, coauthored "Cowboy in the Cupboard: Does Anyone Know This Guy?" published in the Proceedings of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, Vol. 6, 2000.
David L. Brown, Geosciences, received $19,641 from The Nature Conservancy to conduct an assessment for Repanich 2000 Restoration site, including maps, vegetation and soils assessments, and geologic and hydrologic characterizations.
Chuen Hsu, Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing, received $6,670 from Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space for mechanical and thermal analysis of solder joints that attach packages to circuit boards.
Gregory White, Anthropology, received $123,000 from Kiewit Pacific, Inc., to perform archaeological mitigation studies on seven prehistoric sites impacted by the fiber optic line along Highway 45 in Colusa County.
Mark Blackwell, English, presented a paper titled "The Possessive Gaze: Aesthetic Property in Addison and Boswell" at the annual meeting of the Western Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies in Las Vegas, Nevada, in February.
Kenny Chan, Finance and Marketing, will participate in the JCPenney Summer Professor Intern Program in Dallas, Texas.
Judith Kerrins, Education, was appointed to a second term on the board of The AASA Professor, a professional journal published by the American Association of School Administrators.
