Bidwells Grace Faculty and Staff Giving Reception

John and Annie Bidwell called at the Albert E. Warrens Reception Center on October 4, where a reception was held for faculty and staff who generously give to university scholarships and programs (more than $250,000 each year).

The reception also marked the launching of the Contribute to the Promise campaign, developed by a group of faculty and staff. Jim Postma, Chemistry, chair of the committee, said, "Some of us formed a group to encourage even greater involvement from all of us on a continuing basis. We want to support President Esteban's $10 million objective for the Fulfilling the Promise Scholarship campaign."

John and Annie talked about the changes over the last century since John donated the cherry orchard to the Normal school. Annie, in her most upright and charitable way, asked that those present continue their tradition of giving.

There were approximately 150 guests at the reception, which was open to everyone. Guests toured the newly renovated reception center.
