The research team includes Singh, Ray Boykin, Operations Management; Kent Sandoe, Management Information System (MIS); Susan Gardner, Management; Adam Valentiner, MIS student; and Lynelle Bosworth, Agribusiness student. Funding comes from the ARI and e-Fruit International.

This $210,000 three-year, project will develop an Internet site that will function as a hub for business to business (B2B) agriculture e-commerce and involve 70 students.

An Economic and Mechanical Performance Evaluation of Olive Harvesters

The research team includes Singh, Joel Arthur, Civil Engineering; Ramesh Varahmurti, Mechanical Engineering; Ron Borge, Agricultural Engineering Technology; Charles Husome, Mechanical Engineering student; and Lynelle Bosworth, Agribusiness student. Funding comes from the ARI, Lindsay Olive Company, and Bell Carter Foods.

This $280,000 pioneering research project will help growers mechanize the olive harvest, currently done entirely by hand. The team will also test other prototype pickers to discover which leave the least fruit on the tree with the least bruising of fruit.

Rural Home Air Quality Impacts from Agri-Chemicals and Other Contaminants

The research team is Singh, James O'Bannon, Engineering, and Mitch Johns, Agriculture. Funding comes from the ARI, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, and PG&E.

PG&E knows that duct leakage in forced air conditioning systems occurs and contracted with Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory to explore the causes of such leakage. CSU, Chico has a sub-contract for $475,000 to collect data and measure chemical presence in the air and soil. The project is examining the soil and air at 10 homes in Glenn County and 10 homes in Butte County. The results will be integrated with other data at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory.
