Ed Masterson Inducted into Chico Education Hall of Fame
Ed L. Masterson, associate vice president for Development and Advancement Services, was inducted into the Chico Education Hall of Fame on March 21.
He was chosen for his long- time contributions to education and to the community.
The Chico Public Education Hall of Fame recognizes graduates of Chico public high schools who have made a significant contribution to society. At the same time, it honors the teachers who were the most inspirational in the lives of those graduates.
Masterson graduated from Chico High School in 1958. He selected elementary school teachers Irene Griffith and Maxine Weston as his honored teachers. Both taught at Aymer Jay Hamilton School.
Masterson said that Griffith "nurtured and encouraged students," and that Weston "had the ability to make students believe in themselves."
