Not All Picket Fences Are WhiteNine short films from San Francisco Filmmaker and CSU, Chico communications alumnus Daven Gee makes a return visit to Chico on Oct. 11 at 7:30 pm in Ayres 106 with another hand-picked showcase of recent works, this time titled Not All Picket Fences Are White. Gee said about this falls lineup, Not everyone grows up behind a white picket fence, but everyone calls some place homewherever it is, however it is. An antidote to the American blockbuster, these shorts look into the lives of people who are uniquely and unconventionally all-American. Made by San Francisco-based filmmakers, the films travel uncharted creative territories between San Francisco, Texas, New Jersey, New York City, and places remembered along the way. Gee will be available for questions and discussion following the program
at a reception in the Humanities Center in Trinity Hall 100. University Art Gallery, Multicultural and Gender Studies, College of Humanities and Fine Arts, Department of Art and Art History, and University Film Series. Call Thomasin Saxe, x4642, for more information. Gees presentation is free and open to the public. Some of the films may contain sexual and violent language and images.
