Wizards Zap Drugs and Alcohol Hogwart’s School of Magic was one of 60 booths at the Fun Without Alcohol Fair held May 3 on the Kendall Hall lawn. The Campus Alcohol and Drug Education Center organized the fair. Pictured above are (from left) Josh Miller, Ivan Mendoza, Brian Bowman, Joseph Balardi, Tim Chong, and Eric Stava, who “zapped” drugs and alcohol with their magic wands at the Alpha Gamma Delta- and Delta Chi-sponsored booth. Approximately 3,000 school children attended the fair and participated in activities that exposed them to the healthy message of having fun without alcohol. Chico Safe Rides and University Police co-sponsored a booth where “Fatal Vision” goggles were used to show how alcohol impairs judgement. Alpha Delta Pi and Sigma Chi presented a gold-panning booth where students panned for a healthy and drug-free life. From the screaming, squealing, and cheering reverberating off Kendall Hall, everyone was, indeed, having fun. |
