History professor Laird Easton's The Red Count: The Life and Times of Harry Kessler was reviewed in The Washington Post's July 28 Book World, in The New York Times' Aug. 18 Book Review, and in the August Harper's Magazine "New Books" section. It was also recommended in The Washington Post Book World's Summer Reading issue in May.

Bill Post, vice provost for information resources, was featured in a July 1 Sacramento Bee article about increasing cell phone use by college students. He was also quoted in a May 23 Chronicle of Higher Education article about the effect of budget cuts on academic technology.

Biology professor Kristina Schierenbeck was featured in a June 21 Sacramento Bee story about her assistance in helping to find the body of a missing child in Chico. The story also ran in a number of other California newspapers.

The Orion adviser Dave Waddell was quoted in a July 11 Red Bluff News story about a recent award to The Orion from the California Newspaper Publishers Association.

Agriculture professor Cindy Daley was interviewed in a July 13 Sacramento Bee story about animal cloning.

Political science professor Irv Schiffman was featured in an Aug. 1 Marysville Appeal-Democrat article about the Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce's State of the Community luncheon, which Schiffman moderated.

Kathleen Madigan, coordinator of residential life, was quoted in an Aug. 4 Marysville Appeal-Democrat article about college students' transition to living on their own.

Economics professor David Gallo and the Center for Economic Development were featured in an Aug. 7 Siskiyou Daily News article about their study of the feasibility of geothermal power in Siskiyou County.

Colleen Phipps, A.S. Food Service production manager, was quoted in an Aug. 8 Redding Record-Searchlight story about weight gain among freshmen college students.

Warren Jensen, economic studies program manager at the Center for Economic Development, was quoted in an Aug. 12 Ventura County Star article comparing the new CSU, Channel Islands campus to CSU, Chico in terms of potential economic impact.

Shauna Quinn, CADEC program coordinator, was quoted in an Aug. 25 San Francisco Chronicle story about progress being made to curtail student alcohol abuse.
