In July, Dennis Rothermel, chair of the Department of Philosophy and member of the Academic Senate, began serving a two-year interim appointment as vice provost for Academic Affairs and dean of Undergraduate Education. Rothermel replaces Professor Byron Jackson, who is returning to his position in the Department of Political Science.
Sarah Blackstone was appointed dean of the College of Humanities and Fine Arts in July. She had served as interim dean of the college since Aug. 2001, replacing Professor Donald Heinz, who was dean for 16 years.
In June, Bill Post was named vice provost for Information Resources, replacing Fred Ryan, who retired in the spring. Post had been chief technology officer since Aug. 2000.
Debra Barger was named dean of Regional and Continuing Education in June. She had been interim dean since May 2000, when she replaced retiring dean Ralph Meuter. Prior to assuming the dean's position, Barger was associate dean in the continuing education office.
Kenneth Sator was named director of Environmental Management, Health, and Safety in May. He replaces Associate Director Jeff Mott, who served as interim director since Jan. 2000. Sator was formerly supervisor for environmental health and saftey for Kohler Co.
