Two Museum Projects Continue Visionary Fund-Raising EffortsNatural History Museum Supporters envision a 15,000- square-foot museum that will focus on the natural resources and habitats of Northern California. The present museum occupies limited facilities in Holt Hall. After 24 months of fund-raising, almost 1/3 of a $9 million goal has been raised. That includes the value of the site donated by CSU, Chico, located just north of Bidwell Mansion. Janet Turner Museum and Gallery The Janet Turner collection is a $1 million treasure that needs a home. Janet Turner, renowned printmaker and faculty member, bequeathed her collection of more than 3,000 pieces of fine art to the university. A dedicated board continues to raise funds and to look at alternatives for housing a collection that's been called a "crown jewel" of CSU, Chico by President Esteban. |
