Nobel Winner to Discuss Peace"Peace is a process which never ends; it is the result of innumerable decisions made by many persons in many lands. It is an attitude, a way of life, a way of solving problems and of revolving conflicts. It cannot be forced on the smallest nation, nor can it be imposed by the largest. It can neither ignore our differences nor overlook our common interests. It requires us to work and live together." Nobel Peace Prize winner Oscar Arias will speak on Oct. 11 at 7:30 pm in Laxson Auditorium. Arias was president of Costa Rica from 1986 to 1990. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1987 for his efforts in ending decades of political violence throughout Central America. Arias is the sixth Nobel Peace Prize winner to speak at CSU, Chico in five years. His lecture is part of the President's Lecture Series.
