Flying Lessons
Victor Illig, junior civil engineering major and member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, helps a first-grade student from Mill Street School in Orland build a hoop glider during the "Minds in Motion" event Sept. 27. More than 1,000 first- through 12th-grade students were introduced to engineering, mathematics, and science through interactive exhibits and competitions. The event was held in conjunction with the 150th anniversary of ASCE and was co-sponsored by the Department of Civil Engineering.
