Dancing Sugar Plums

Tchaikovsky's beloved Nutcracker returns to Laxson Auditorium Dec. 12-15. Co-produced by Friends of Chico Community Ballet and Chico Performances, the holiday classic features local ballet dancers, students from Haley's Martial Arts Center, schoolchildren from Chico, Oroville, and Red Bluff, and professional dancer Thomas Bell as the Nutcracker. Marilyn Warrens, well-known art patron, reprises her role as Grandmother for the fifth time. Director and choreographer Deborah Jorritsma has added some new features to this year's production, about which she's keeping mum. Many of the favorite magical features return, including the Christmas tree that grows before your eyes and the oversized Mother Goose.

See calendar for ticket information.
