Interim Dean, College of Business
Steven J. Adams is a professor of accounting at CSU, Chico and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in managerial accounting. He has been the associate dean of the College of Business, chair of the Department of Accounting and Management Information Systems, and graduate coordinator.

Adams is a certified management accountant, a certified public accountant, and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. He was a cost analyst for a Fortune 500 company and has consulted for firms in the electronics, retail, and equipment manufacturing industries. He has also published in numerous journals in the areas of management control systems and accounting education.

Director of Major Gifts, University Development and Advancement Services
Prior to coming to campus on Jan. 6, Robert “Bob” Alber was chief of community relations in charge of communications, marketing, and resource development for the San Diego American Red Cross. Before joining the Red Cross, he was executive director of university development at San Diego State University.

Alber graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in technical journalism and earned an M.A. in journalism and mass communication from South Dakota State University.

Outreach and Retention Director, College of Agricultur
Sarah Deforest was director of public relations for the California Beef Council in Pleasanton, California, where she managed the communications component of the California beef industry before being hired as the new outreach director for the College of Agriculture. In her new position, she will be responsible for developing and implementing programs to attract and retain high-quality agriculture students.

Deforest graduated from CSU, Chico in 2000 with a degree in animal science.

On-Campus Recruiting Coordinator, Career Planning and Placement Office
For the past three years, Megan Odom served as a district recruiter for Target Stores, where she worked closely with the Career Planning and Placement Office at CSU, Chico as well as other universities.

Odom received her B.S. in business communications from the University of California, Davis and her M.B.A. with a management information systems emphasis from CSU, Chico in 2002. While attending UC Davis, she worked as a student adviser in the internship and career center.
