Les Blank Visits Campus

Les Blank is a prize-winning independent filmmaker who provides intimate glimpses into the lives and music of passionate people who live at the periphery of American society. Blank will visit campus April 22 as part of the Les Blank Film Festival. He will present the award-winning Yum, Yum, Yum! and A Well Spent Life, as well as host a question-and-answer session. Blank, who is known internationally as a master of his oeuvre, has won numerous significant awards. He has been featured on National Public Radio and CNN; articles about him have appeared in several publications, including The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Time. Retrospectives of his work have been presented at major museums, and he was awarded one of the highest honors given by the American Film Institute.

The festival is sponsored by the Humanities Center, the Department of Art and Art History, and the Department of Communication Design.
