staff who are featured or quoted by the media, with particular attention

Music professor Paul Friedlander was quoted in Bernard
Weinraub’s New York Times article about Chuck Berry on
Feb. 23.
Assistant philosophy professor Troy Jollimore’s
review of Ciaran Carson’s translation of Dante’s The Inferno
appeared in the March 2 issue of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Assistant sociology professor Janja Lalich was interviewed
about the Elizabeth Smart case for articles appearing in The Salt
Lake Tribune on March 13, The Washington Post on March 14,
the Chicago Tribune on March 16, and Toronto’s The
Globe and Mail on March 22. She was also interviewed for The
O’Reilly Factor on Fox News Channel and numerous radio shows,
including The Morning Edition on NPR; nationally syndicated The
Jim Bohannon Show; nationally syndicated The O’Reilly Radio
Factor; The Tom Sullivan Show on Sacramento’s ABC/CNN
affiliate, KFBK; The Teri O’Brien Show on Chicago’s
WLSAM; The Steve Cannon Show on Columbus, Ohio’s WTVN-AM;
San Antonio, Texas’ KTFA Newstalk; and Salt Lake City’s
KURR-FM. Lalich was also quoted in the Aug. 28, 2002, SF Weekly
in an article about the adverse side effects of meditation.
History chair James Matray was interviewed on the Feb.
10 ABC Nightline about the impact of the Korean War on the course
of the Cold War and how it shaped the emergence of the current regime
in North Korea and contributed to the current crisis on the Korean peninsula.
