Psychology professor emeritus Ed Abramson was featured in an Aug. 24 New York Times article about the popularity and potential dangers of fasting. Abramson is an expert in eating disorders.

Accounting professor and Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) adviser Curt DeBerg was quoted in the August issue of about Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship (SAGE), a program that SIFE was instrumental in initiating. SAGE, and its connection to the CSU, Chico SIFE chapter, is also featured in the current issue of Edutopia, an online publication by the George Lucas Educational Foundation.

Journalism professor Glen Bleske was quoted in a June 3 article in the Ventura County Star about the Federal Communications Commission's decision to relax media ownership rules.

History professor and MEChA adviser Susan Green was quoted in a Sept. 4 SF Gate article about Cruz Bustamante's involvement in 1975 with a student group at Fresno State College that advocated empowerment for Mexican Americans.

Physical education and exercise science professor Duane Knudson was featured in a July 7 Baltimore Sun article about the increasing power and speed in tennis.

Anthropology professor Turhon Murad was quoted in June 7 articles in the Contra Costa Times, the Pleasanton Valley Times, and the Pinole West County Times about human body parts discovered in a Davis trailer park trash bin. Murad is a board-certified forensic anthropologist.

Religious studies professor Sarah Pike was quoted in an Aug. 10 Austin American-Statesman article about a Wiccan who has been harassed in a small town in Texas. Pike is an expert in new religious movements.

Center for Economic Development director Dan Ripke was quoted in a July 15 New York Times article about Seabiscuit. The article focuses on Willits, where the horse was trained, and Ripke commented about the town's economic profile.

Sociology professor Walt Schafer was quoted in a July 23 feature by MSNBC News about university anti-alcohol plans.

Admissions director John Swiney was quoted about CSU, Chico enrollment in a Sept. 5 Contra Costa Times article about CSU enrollment.

Political science professor Charley Turner was quoted in an Aug. 24 Sacramento Bee column about CSU, Chico reactions to the recall election. A number of CSU, Chico students were interviewed for the story, and for a Sept. 1 Sacramento Bee story about how colleges, including CSU, Chico, match roommates in residence halls.

Director of the Archeological Research Program Greg White was quoted in a July 13 Sacramento Bee article about new archeological excavation in Sacramento.

Communication design professor Byron Wolfe was featured in a Sept. 1 New York Times article about the concept of wilderness and photography's role therein. Wolfe's work as a photographer accompanies the article.
