Career Planning Receives Grant

Robert Loughead, team relations lead for the Target store in Chico, presented a $2,000 grant from Target Corporation to Jamie Starmer, director of the Career Planning and Placement office, and Megan Odom, coordinator of on-campus recruiting, on Oct. 2, in the Rose Garden.

Target Corporation awarded the grant for Career Planning and Placement's successful recruiting efforts. Each semester, Target hires a number of CSU, Chico graduates for its retail and distribution centers. "This is our way to say thank you for the great students you graduate from your institution," said Jacke Jones, college relations coordinator for Target.

Target has recognized the Career Planning and Placement office with annual grants for the last 3 or 4 years, Starmer said. The funds will go toward the Placement Partners Annual Donation Program, which supports office functions and recruitment operations.
