Eagle Lake Field Station Open for Reservations The Eagle Lake Field Station (ELFS) is accepting reservations for late spring, summer, and fall 2004. The station, an 11-building facility, is located 26 miles northwest of Susanville in Lassen County on the eastern shore of Eagle Lake. ELFS is available for primarily academic activities that are consistent with the isolation and natural setting of the station. Groups have used the station for field biology, ecology, and archaeology courses, workshops, seminars, professional meetings, and academic retreats. ELFS can accommodate about 35 people in cabins and dormitories. Most housing has wood heating, indoor plumbing, hot water, and showers. Resident staff provide food service. Cabins are limited, and their use is restricted to ELFS staff, group leaders, long-term researchers, and faculty. Jay Bogiatto, ELFS station manager, can be contacted at x4490 for information about reservations. His e-mail address is rbogiatto@csuchico.edu. For more information about the station, go to the ELFS Web site at http://www.csuchico.edu/biol/EagleLake/eaglelake.html. }
