Western Opera Theatre, the professional touring company of the San Francisco Opera, is again gracing the stage with Bizet’s passionate and captivating Carmen. Full of exhuberance and vitality, Carmen is one of opera’s most seductive forces whose wicked beauty can tame even the most careful of men. WOT has presented thirty-eight operas with 1700 performances reaching more than 2 million people in forty-eight states. They were the first to tour the People’s Republic of China, as well as Japan and Micronesia. WOT attempts to increase and develop opera’s audience and its participants with performances and workshops designed for newcomers and veterans alike.
