Recent Paintings and Prints by Paul Feldhaus, emeritus professor of Art. Feldhaus spent over twenty years as a teacher at CSU, Chico in print-making. He is now exploring the art of watercolor, and on a recent trip to China, he purchased Chinese brushes and paints. The result is a series of paintings and prints inspired by the anatomical forms of the eucalyptus bark and his travels to the Caribbean, Greece, and Fort Bragg. October 13-November 13, Third floor Gallery, BMU. A public reception will be held on Thursday, October 17, 7-9 p.m.

Paintings of Jean Gallagher can be seen by appointment at James Snidle Fine Arts, 254 East 4th Street, Chico (343-2930). The show runs through October.

Watershed Investigations Presented by the Chico Art Center, this show features innovative and surprising treasures captured by aerial photographer Mark Abrahamson. Through October 26. Exhibition hours Wed.-Sun. noon-4 p.m.

Timeless Wonders: The Best of America The theme for this year's 13th annual American Visions Photography Competition. Professionals and amateurs capture what America means to them in this nationwide contest with a three-person panel that will judge according to category, quality, and relevance. Through Oct. 31, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., M-F, Langdon 301.
