Pulitzer Prize nominee, Malcolm Rohrbough, professor of history
at the University of Iowa, and author of Days of Gold: The
California Gold Rush and the American Nation,
will present a lecture titled, "A Look to the Past,"
on Monday, April 20, 7 p.m., Ayres 120. Kevin Starr, state
librarian and noted California historian, said Rohrbough's book on the
Gold Rush is an "exhaustively researched, elegantly written
study," and called Rohrbough, "a master historian of this defining
American epic." Rohrbough's lecture is sponsored by the Department
of History and Friends of History. Public welcome.
