Chico Creek creatures including this bullfrog, a dozen different kinds of fish, and other aquatic life were part of a display of Chico Creek aquatic life for Earth Day, April 22. Paul Maslin, Biology, with the help of biology students and the biology honor society, Omicron Theta Epsilon, collected all of the aquatic life from Chico Creek and its tributaries in the last two weeks. Maslin, Jay Bogiatto, director of Eagle Lake Field Station, and Jeff Mott, Environmental Health and Safety, started the program several years ago as part of a group called Stewardship of Chico Creek. They wanted to acquaint the campus and community with the extraordinary variety of life in the creek.

The Program was so popular and drew so much local elementary school interest, that the group, with the help of students, has voluntarily continued the project each year.
