Terra Nova: A Haunting Tale of the South Pole Conquest

Jeff Hohimer (above) and Beth Highland, play Robert Falcon Scott and his wife Kathleen in Terra Nova, directed by Bill Johnson. Set in the winter of 1911-1912, Terra Nova is the story of the conquest of the South Pole. A mixture of fantasy and realism, it is a haunting tale of heroism and folly in which the noblest of human sentiments must war with the harshest practicalities of survival. Roald Amundsen, played by Shawn Lewis (below), leader of the Norwegian team who beat the English to the Pole, appears as a phantom who acts as Scott’s nemesis. (photos DA)
