Reed Gibby, professor of civil engineering, had his research on roadway crosswalks featured in a November 27 article in the San Jose Mercury-News.

Lou Harrold, professor of electrical and computer engineering, was quoted in a November 24 Sacramento Bee article about a software gift from Cadence Design Systems, the largest software gift in school history. A short item on the gift also appeared November 15 in the Sacramento Business Journal.

Carolivia Herron, assistant professor of English, continues to receive national media attention for her controversial children's book Nappy Hair. Along with contributing to articles in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, USA Today and other publications, she appeared on TV network news programs, the Montel Williams Show, the Rosie O'Donnell Show, and other programs.

Marv Megibow, professor in psychology, was quoted in a December 14 article in the Sacramento Bee about Chico's Jewish community and its new rabbi.

Dave Swanson, professor of physical education and exercise science, had his recent research on athletic performance discussed in a December 1998 issue of Sports Illustrated, as well as articles in Runner's World, Men's Health, and Hypocrites. The research concerned using an herbal antioxidant to improve endurance.
