Publications

Kelly Burke, Accounting and Management Information Systems, had the invited, peer-reviewed paper "An Assessment of Change in Behavioral Dynamics among Computer-Supported Groups: Different Factors Change at Different Rates" accepted for publication in Industrial Management and Data Systems.

Ben Martz, Gail Corbitt, Accounting and Management Information Systems, and Lauren Wright, Finance and Marketing, had their "Integration of Groupware into a Curriculum" accepted for publication in the journal Educational Innovation in Economics and Business V: Business Education for the Changing Workplace.

Jim Morgan, Management, published "California Supreme Court Broadens Public Policy Wrongful Discharge Tort" in Employment and Labor Law Newsletter: A Publication of the American Business Law Association, Vol. 1, No. 1.

Charles Price, Political Science, had his article "Democrats Surge in California" published in the December 1998 issue of State Government News.

Michele Shover, Political Science, privately printed Vera McKeen of Yankee Hill in 1998.

Stuart Vanauken, Finance and Marketing, and co-author Earl Chrysler, Quinnipiac College, had their paper "A Methodology for Alumni Assessment of an MIS Program" accepted for publication in the summer 1999 issue of The Journal of Computer Information Systems.

Awards and Activities

Marian Baldy, Agriculture, presented "How to Pass the CWE Exam—Results of the June 1998 CWE Survey" at the Society of Wine Educators National Conference in Sacramento in August where she also convened and moderated a six-member panel, "Phenols from the Vineyard to the Palate." She also presented "The Video Lecture—An Asynchronous Learning Opportunity for Students" at the CELT Conference at CSU, Chico in September and presented "The Perception of Bitterness and Astringency" at the American Wine Society National Conference in Greenwich, CT, in November 1998.

Gail Corbitt and Ben Martz, Accounting and Management Information Systems, had their paper "Implementing Enterprise Resource Planning into a Business School Curriculum: Critical Success Factors" accepted for presentation at the recent meeting of the Decision Sciences Institute. Corbitt presented the paper and also participated in an invited presentation related to ERP systems research with panelists from the University of Texas, Austin and Indiana University.

Susan Gardner, Glenn Gomes, and Jim Morgan, Management, had their paper "The Expanding Public Policy Exception to the Employment-at-Will Doctrine: Implications and Advice for the Human Resource Manager" accepted for presentation at the Society for Advancement of Management's 1999 International Management Conference. Gomes will present the paper.

Christine M. Rodrigue, Geography and Planning, presented "Public, Expert, and Activist Perceptions of the Plutonium on Board the Cassini-Huygens Mission" to the American Association for the Advancement of Science in January.
