Dale Steiner, left, introduced his friend and colleague, Bob Cottrell, at the Outstanding Professor lecture held on April 20. Steiner said of Cottrell, “His books reveal an author who is no mere recounter of the past, but a literary craftsman.” Steiner pointed to qualities of intellectual fire and passionate engagement with his subject, as part of what make Cottrell an outstanding professor.
