Making a Clean Sweep: Self-contained Sweeper Eliminates Dust

The new Tennant 830 has been sweeping up the campus for five months now. The word around campus is that it is doing a wonderful job. So said Joe Covert, Facilities Management, “We’ve received more compliments on it than on any piece of equipment we’ve purchased in the thirty-three years I’ve been here,” he said. The sweeper is a hit because, unlike the older sweepers, the new sweeper is self-contained, allowing its use in the midst of a busy day with no fear of covering passers-by with dust. This will also prevent dust from filling air filters on nearby buildings, doubling the life of those air filters, said Covert. “And, when winter falls on the campus, the vacuum attached to the rear of the sweeper will unclog storm drains, preventing possible flooding,” he said. “A fine piece of equipment in all ways!” (text and photo JMW)
