CELT Book Club

CELT is launching a book club for faculty Nov. 11 from 2 to 3 pm in MLIB 171. The club will be exploring the book What the Best College Teachers Do by Ken Bain. Free copies are available to all participants. There will be a second discussion meeting on Dec. 2 followed by three in the spring. For more information, call x3094.

Dancing for Peace

A night of Israeli folk dancing Nov. 9, 7:30–10 pm, featuring the band Mazal Tov Cocktail and dancing led by Levi and Ayelet Bar Gil from Israel. Learn about Israeli/Jewish culture and traditional folk dances and sampling Israeli food. Admission is free. Call Chico Hillel at 879-0870 for information.

Pet Food Drive

The Friends of the Animals food drive to benefit clients of the Chico-area Meals on Wheels program is Nov. 16 through Dec. 14. Folks can drop off cat or dog food donations (smaller bags, please) to Sue Anderson at Sapp Hall at 238 Normal Avenue or send a check made out to CSU, Chico FOA to her at Zip 050.
