Exemplary Online Instruction Nominations Due March 25

Faculty are invited to apply for recognition for exemplary online instruction through Academic Technologies and the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching. Exemplary courses will be announced at the 2005 CELT Conference and posters highlighting the courses will be displayed in Academic Technologies.

Course review will be based on Chico’s Rubric for Online Instruction, developed in 2003 to provide guidelines for developers of online education and promote discussion about the nature of student online learning.

Instruction will be based on the six categories of the rubric: leaner support and resources, online organization and design, instructional design and delivery, assessment and evaluation of student learning, innovative teaching with technology, and faculty use of student feedback.

Last year’s award winners were Marian Baldy, Bill Bergman, Aaron Bor, Sara Cooper, Rony Garrido, Carolyn Brown Heinz, Jeff Jiang, Jon Knolle, Penelope Kuhn, Yoshio Kusaba, Matt Looper, Brian Oppy, Julia Shovein, and Kevin Weherly.

Deadline for nominations is March 25.
