Free Agent
Participants who would like to play intramural sports but who do not have a team may register as a Free Agent. Multiple Free-Agent teams have been created in each sport and division.
Joining a Free-Agent team can be done online via IMOnline. If you do not already have an account you will need to create one (Participant ID is your Student ID#). Once logged-in, follow these steps to join a Free-Agent team:
- Select type of sport and desired league then locate the Free-Agent team you wish to sign up for.
- Click on the “Join Team” icon by desired Free Agent team.
- Enter "free agents" as the password
- Read “Terms and Conditions,” then select “Yes”
- Click “JOIN TEAM”
- A week prior to the season beginning each team member will receive an email from Intramural Sports. This email will act as the confirmation that you still plan on participating. Anyone that does not respond to this emal will be dropped from the team and their spot will be offered to those on the Free Agent list.
- If you are successfully added onto the team your next step is to attend your team's first game; be dressed in a white t-shirt and ready to play. Schedules will be posted on IMOnline prior to the league beginning.
- Players who do not show up to the first game will be dropped from the team and their spot will be offered on a 'first-come, first-served' basis to those individuals signed up on the Free Agent List
Please Note: Free Agents DO NOT have to pass the Captains Quiz or pay the Intramural Team Fee.
Common Free Agent Questions
What if I want join a team, but it is already full?
Once a Free-Agent team is full, participants may still register via Free Agency at IMOnline. If an opening on a Free-Agent team becomes available those on this list will be contacted, on a 'first-come, first-served' basis, in order to fill the open spot(s). Also, teams in need of players may also search this list and invite players onto their respective teams.
Please note: Coed leagues must have a certain number of men and women on a team, in some cases certain open spots may only be available for either a male or female.
What’s the difference between a Free-Agent Team and the Free Agency List?
A Free-Agent Team is a team already scheduled into a league to play on a specific day, those on this team already have a guaranteed spot. Signing up via Free Agency allows your name to be entered into a database whereby other team captains can invite you to participate.
