Ballroom Dance Night: (Fall 12/1 - Spring TBA) - Come out
and join 500 other students and community members and enjoy dancing
to the sounds of tango, swing, and country music. Put on your best
outfit and dancing shoes. There is a small charge for this event.
Banff Film Festival: (Fall 9/21 - Spring TBA) - In conjunction
with Adventure Outings, this semi-annual event is a perennial sell-out
so be sure to get your tickets from the box office early. From Banff,
Canada, come and enjoy the works of this traveling collection of
some of the world's best outdoor adventure film makers. Treat yourself
to a night of rock climbing, mountain biking, kayaling, hang gliding,
and more.
Climbing Tie and Try: (Fall Dec. Date TBA) - This event is strictly
for Climbing Wall novices. The Climbing Tie & Try allows novices
to climb the wall in a non-threatening learning environment. All
necessary equipment and training will be provided. Come out and
try something new.
Bidwell Bow Wow: (Spring TBA) - Man's best friend will enjoy
this event too! Bring Fido to Bidwell Park where both people and
dogs can participate in recreational 5 & 10K races. Dogs are
welcome but not mandatory. Be sure to stay for the dog demonstrations,
pet-owner look-a-like contests, best kisser contest, and more.
Madden 2003 Video Football Tournament: (Spring
TBA) Come test your skills against other Chico State students in
our first ever Video Football Tournament hosted by Recreational
Sports. Match your skills against other Madden 2003 participants.
Prizes will be awarded for top competitors. The tournament format
will be determined by the number of preregistrations. For more information
contact the Rec. Sports office at x5170.
Night Golf Tourney: (Spring TBA) - Sign up early for
this event as it is always well attended. Glow in the dark balls
and pins make the links even more fun at night.
St. Paddy's Day Fun Run: (Spring TBA) - All are welcome at this
recreational run/walk. Recreational Sports, in conjunction with
CADEC, Associated Students, and Student Activities, encourages you
to start your St. Patrick's Day with a 2-mile run, 1-mile run, or
a 1-mile walk. This event free to all Chico State Students. There
is small fee for non-students. All participants will receive a free
T-Shirt and flapjack breakfast.
