The Team
The men's water polo team, a member of the Collegiate Water Polo Association, has been around since 1985 and competes against such teams as Cal Poly, Cal Maritime, UCLA, Fresno State, and St. Mary's in the fall. The team utilizes the spring semester for off-season training by having a light practice schedule and traveling to local tournaments.
In 2008-2009, the club was named the Chico State Sport Clubs Team of the Year, exhibited by their outstanding success in and out of the pool. Additionally, a club member was awarded with the Sport Clubs Male Athlete of the Year honor for his All-Conference play in the pool. Heading into the 2013 season, the club will look to build off of their accolades and make a run for a league and national championship.
