CSU, Chico Recreational Sports sponsors several student-run sport clubs.  The STUDENTS run the club, but work with Rec Sports to comply with specific rules and regulations of the University, and their sport governing bodies.

Recreational Clubs are geared toward instruction/participation or limited competition/participation. Club meetings average 2 to 3 times per week.

Competitive Clubs compete against other colleges. Teams practice and play an average of four to five times per week. The commitment made by a Competitive Club player is closer to that of varsity athletics.
