Ages:
The camp is designed for children aged 6-12. The groups are created according to age and are in a 8:1 camper/counselor ratio for 6 and 7 year olds, 10:1 for children 8 and 9 and 12:1 for those 10 and up. All activities are developmentally appropriate and vary so that each child is able to experience all of the activities.

Staffing:
Our camp leaders and counselors bring a variety of skills and experiences to the camp in an effort to provide the best possible camp experience. All of our Camp Leaders are CPR for the Professional Rescuer & Lifeguard certified.

Camp Schedule:
All camps are one week in length, and are scheduled throughout the summer with the exception of the week of July 4th. Many of our most popular activities will repeat from week to week: tubing down the creek, climbing the rock wall, swimming, etc. All other activities such as field trips, sports, etc. can vary week to week.

Swimming
Swimming is a daily activity in our camp. With safety in mind, children are required to pass a swim test to determine their abilities to swim without a lifejacket.
If the swim test is not passed, a lifejacket must be worn until the test can be passed.

Lunch and snack:
The fun of camp combined with summer weather will require campers to have lots of energy. We encourage families to pack lunches with healthy, nutritious, warm weather & backpack durable food and drink. Please be sure to include enough food in your child's lunch to support both a morning and afternoon snack.

Parent Involvement:
We encourage all parents to be involved in their camper's experience. In order to help this process along, there is a standing invitation for "Lunch with Your Favorite Camper" and special interest demonstrations. If you have a talent, trick, hobby, interest, sport, indoor or outdoor activity, etc. to show or teach our campers, please notify one of the Camp Directors. We would be willing to trade a camp just for sharing your unique ability! Also, please utilize our electronic mail bag program. Each day at lunch our staff will provide hard copies of any message, joke, or quick note you want to e-mail to your child. Send emails to recsports@csuchico.edu

Registering for Camp:
The cost is $130 for a week of camp per child.

*Spots are on a first come-first serve basis and most camps fill to our ratio limits*

If you sign up and are unable to make your scheduled camp week, we will do our best to transfer your child(ren) into another available week of camp. If there are no available spaces and you would like to cancel your registration, we will refund all but the $70 deposit.

To register, please call and register over the phone with a Visa/MC at 898-5170 or stop by the Chico State Recreational Sports Office in Acker Gym 126 from 9-5pm. Adventure Day Camp Rocks!
