The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (RESP) is organized into three teams that collectively provide services to the campus in support of submitting proposals for external funding and managing the resulting awards.  A general description of the duties of each of these units follows. The Vice Provost for Research serves as the research officer for the University, works with deans and administrators to advance the University's research agenda, and oversees the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.

Provides project administrative services to the Anthropology and Archaeology Departments, Academic Technologies, Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement, the National History Museum, National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation projects.

Provides development and project administrative services to the Agriculture Research Institute, the College of Ag, Concrete Industry Management, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, The Institute for Sustainable Development, The Northeast Information Center and the Water Lab.
