11.30.2005 -Clarification of One-up Authority
The Office of Sponsored Programs would like to clarify a previous email send out this week on “one-up authority.” The email stated that individuals must have the project director sign as the “one-up” authority.
In actuality, a project director’s designee may sign for the expenses of another as long as the person signing has signatory authority on the project. What this means is that if 2 additional individuals have been delegated authority for signing on the OSP Signature Authorization form, then they may sign for each other for reimbursements and do not only have to have the Project Directors signature.
