There are several resources that the Research Foundation has placed on its website to help facilitate your responsibilities as a Project Director and/or Supervisor. They can be found at the Foundation’s website, www.csuchico.edu/rfdn. Please take a few minutes and review the information that is provided. The CSU, Chico Research Foundation is a separate employer from the State, and therefore there are different and distinct processes that must be followed in order to comply with the laws and policies under which the Foundation operates. The “Guides” and other information provided at our website are designed to assist you in your role. A brief description of some of the information you will find available to you follows.

“Supervisor’s Guide to Safety in the Workplace” - The guide will help you evaluate your employee work areas, provide worker’s compensation information and provide guidelines for your required quarterly safety meetings. The Foundation emphasizes the importance of Safety in the Workplace and our goal is to keep our employees safe by making safety issues a part of your day-to-day operations. We publish a Safety Newsletter that is distributed to all employees on a quarterly basis and is archived on our website.

“Supervisor’s Guide to Performance Evaluations” - This resource emphasizes the importance in providing well-rounded feedback to your employees on a continuous basis, and also provides information on how to deal with some of the more stressful evaluation processes. Forms including our standard evaluation form, a form for noting employee counseling sessions, and a form for documenting improvement plans are provided on the website.

“Request for Recruitment of Position” - This form is designed to assist you and our office in the recruitent process by helping you focus on the essential needs for the position. The actual drafting of the announcements, recruitment, etc., will be conducted by this office, but in full consultation with you.
