1-31-08 PD Advisory - PROPERTY POLICY REVISIONS
In response to a recent Chancellor’s Office audit and to meet other campus requirements, changes have been made to the CSU, Chico Research Foundation Property Policy. This policy defines terms and identifies the various processes related to acquisition/procurement, coding, inventory tracking, reporting and disposition of all property purchased with Foundation funds.
Here are the changes with policy page numbers for reference:
1) Grant & Contract Property Codes—codes have been deleted or revised and descriptions have been modified. Refer to the new objects codes list for all future coding. (page 5)
2) Off-Campus Use of Foundation Property Form—this form is required for all laptops. Use the revised form for all new purchases, when moving a laptop to a different location or when purchasing Foundation property that will be located off campus. (page 6)
3) Inventory, Tagging and Tracking Section—updated to meet physical inventory requirements for property located on and off campus. (page 6)
4) Electronic Device Disposal—specific types of property have been designated as a Consumer Electronic Device (CED) and are subject to special disposal guidelines Contact your Foundation administrative office prior to the transfer, sale or donation of Foundation property for specific processing requirements. These devices include computers, LCD monitors, printers, PDAs, USB flash drives and other items such as disks, CDs, Zip cartridges and tapes containing data. (page 7)
