Energy Management and Control
The Energy Management and Control laboratory will house technical support and research activities by Chico State University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for the evolving industry of integrating the renewable energy resources of photovoltaic arrays and wind turbines for residential, commercial and industrial applications. Currently, Dr. Adel Ghandakly is developing a computer simulation model for feasibility and economical assessment of integrating those energy sources into the power system grid. To ultimately provide efficiency and economic benefits to integrated system user, he is also developing effective technology for maximum energy operation of the photovoltaic arrays and an Energy Management and Control operation strategy for the integrated system.
