Wind and Weather
In the Wind and Weather Lab at CIC, Dr. Cristina Archer of the Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences, will conduct research on a variety of wind-related topics, including: measurements of wind and temperature in the lower boundary layer on a 4-level meteorological tower installed at CIC; numerical modeling of the boundary layer and mid-level flows via state-of-the-art meteorological models; as well as plans for the creation of the first California's small wind test center at CIC installation and operation of a 449 MHz wind profiler at CIC, pending further funding. Dr. Archer also serves as liaison to the high-altitude wind energy industry.
