Mission Statement
The Cross Cultural Leadership Center values and respects the richness and understanding that diversity brings. The Center exists to create an environment in which all students, regardless of their ethnicity, culture, or differences, feel safe and respected. Through leadership development, cultural awareness, community education, and the creation of a constructive social change, the Cross Cultural Leadership Center will contribute a positive, enriching, and memorable life experience to every student of CSU, Chico and its surrounding community.

 

The Cross Cultural Leadership Center offers a comprehensive series of programs and events, professional development internships, and volunteer opportunities, and a variety of services.

Programs & Events

The CCLC prides itself in delivering high quality, innovative, and student-centered programs including the Diversity Summit, Spirit of a Woman Conference, Kwanzaa Community Celebration, LEAD STRONG Junior High and High School Leadership Conferences, In Focus Leadership Conference, Chico State University Leaders Honor Society, Winter Snow Board/Ski Retreats, and a Slam Poetry Contest, to name just a few.

The CCLC provides unique experiences to work with a diverse group of people, while creating programs that change people's lives.

Services

Besides comfy couches, friendly faces, and a feeling of home, the CCLC offers a variety of services to students and student organizations including a computer lab, internet, copiers, fax machine, design and editing, poster making supplies, telephones, funding, leadership training, diversity training, and advising.

The energy of the CCLC is driven by students empowering students. Interns and volunteers commit to a year of service and work as a team to build community. Collectively they carry out the daily operations of the center, outreach and provide consulting to student organizations, and deliver cutting-edge programs for the Chico State campus.

Along with the Associated Students Commissioner of Multicultural Affairs, the CCLC brings together representatives of student organizations for monthly advisory board meetings and gatherings. The CCLC advisory board encourages collaborating, exchanging ideas, creating relationships, and enhancing leadership abilities.
