Elementary School Science (Grades K-6)

If you are a Liberal Studies major and are interested in standing out from the crowd when you apply for jobs, consider an area of concentration in Natural Science. Science teachers are in great demand and, even in elementary school, science is gaining more and more class time as the integrated common core standards in English embrace the connection between science and literacy.

In fact, consider double majoring in Liberal Studies and Natural Science! With only 20 units more than the Liberal Studies degree + a science area of concentration, you will be prepared to get obtain a single subject credential in foundational level general science to teach grades 6-9 and a multiple subjects credential for grades K-6.
