A Step-by-Step Guide to Registration

Step 8: Pay Fees by the Registration Fee Payment Deadline

Once you pay fees, you are considered to be formally registered. After the Registration Fee Payment Deadline, the number of your enrolled units will be limited to the number of units (none, part-or full-time) for which you have paid or for which you will receive financial aid.

Sign up for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and ensure that you have cleared all holds and enrolled in the minimum required number of units at least 10 days before your scheduled disbursement date. Any fee payment deducted from your financial aid will be processed on the disbursement date and the balance of your aid will be deposited to your checking account. Check your Study List using your personal Portal account at least 10 days before your scheduled disbursement date to check for holds and to ensure that you have the minimum number of units required. Use the Portal to add courses if necessary to meet the minimum unit requirement as a full- or part-time financial aid student.

You must pay fees in time to assure receipt by Student Financial Services on or before the Fee Payment Deadline.

If paying by check, money order, or cashier’s check, you may use the Pay-By-Mail procedure or drop your payment in the drop box at Student Financial Services, KNDL 212. Make all checks payable to CSU Chico and include your Student Identification Number (SID) or complete name if SID is unknown. Mail your payment to:

Payment must be received by the Fee Payment Deadline, postmarks are not used as receipt date. DO NOT MAIL CASH.

Electronic check payments (ACH) are accepted online at http://www.csuchico.edu/sfin and select the Electronic Check button. Payments are posted immediately to your student account. There is no fee to use this option.

Credit Card Payments (MasterCard, American Express, Discover) are accepted online at www.csuchico.edu/sfin- click on the Pay Fees with Credit Card - or by touch-tone phone at 1-866-485-1460. Credit card payments are subject to a 2.9% service fee.

Registration fees are due by the Registration Fee Deadline whether or not you are enrolled in any classes as of that date. If you have not paid fees or confirmed financial aid by the Registration Fee Deadline, a $25 late registration fee will be added to your account balance and you will not be allowed to add any classes during the open add/drop period until you have paid your registration fees or confirmed financial aid applicant status for the total number of units in which you intend to enroll.
