Parking Decals and General Information

Sale of Decals

GENERAL PARKING PERMITS for the Fall 2008 semester will go on sale beginning Wednesday, August 20, 2008 from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm in the BMU Auditorium. After the first day, they will be available in the Cashiering Office, Student Services Center - Room 230 until they are sold out.

While on sale at BMU Auditorium, payment by check is strongly preferred, but we also accept MasterCard and Visa credit cards; sorry, NO CASH.

Parking permits for ON-CAMPUS HOUSING RESIDENTS are sold through a lottery process. Information about entering the lottery was sent to all on-campus housing residents who were assigned a room. All permits unclaimed after Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 5:00 will be sold on a first come, first serve basis to all other on-campus housing residents.

The cost of the semester decal is $72 for a general permit or $18 for a motorcycle permit. Payment by check is strongly preferred. No more than two permits can be purchased by one person at a time. Please have your student or employee identification number and vehicle information, including license plate number, available.

There is limited parking on campus and permits may sell out the first day they are placed on sale. All decals are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Parking regulations and Frequently Asked Questions are published and enforced by the University Police. Parking of automobiles and motorcycles is authorized in campus-designated lots by permit only.

Visitor parking -- Visitors may purchased short-term parking at the 2nd and Normal Street parking lot. Arrangements for extended visitor parking can be made directly with University Police.

Handicapped parking spaces have been specially designated and are available 24 hours a day. Only those students, faculty, or staff displaying a current parking permit and a DMV disabled placard, a temporary handicapped decal displayed on their back window, or disabled plates are authorized to park in these spaces.

Parking Permit Fees

  • $72.00 per semester for automobiles
  • $18.00 per semester for motorcycles/motorscooters/motorized bikes

Refund of Parking Fees for Automobiles

  • 1 - 30th day of semester -- $54.00
  • 31-60th day of semester -- $36.00
  • 61-90th day of semester -- $18.00
  • 91st day-end of semester -- No refund

To get a refund, fill out Refund Request Form and return it along with your parking decal to Student Financial Services, Student Services Center, Room 230.
