Sale of Semester Permits

General (G) Parking Permits and Motorcycle (M) Decals

  • Spring 2015 parking permit/decal sales being: Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 9:00 am and continue until sold out
  • Spring 2015 parking permit/decals available for pickup beginning:  Monday, January 12, 2015 at 8:00 am

General and motorcycle parking permits/decals are are only sold on-line through our on-line parking permit e-market site. There is limited parking on campus and permits may sell out the first day they are placed on sale. Only one permit may be purchased at a time.  All permits and decals are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Parking is extremely limited, therefore, we highly encourage those who live within a mile of the Campus to leave your vehicles at home and find alternate forms of transportation.  For additional information regarding these alternate forms of transportation, please visit the Transportation and Parking Services website

In addition, if you are an on-campus housing resident, do NOT purchase a general parking permit as they are not valid for overnight parking.  Residents of University Village are also not eligible to purchase general parking permits and must find alternate forms of transportation to and from Campus.

Permit Purchase Instructions:  Click on the link above to enter the parking e-market site.  Select the type of permit you are purchasing; enter the required vehicle information; login to the payment system using your CSU, Chico student ID number and password (typically your 6-digit date of birth) or create a login/password if you do not have a CSU, Chico student ID number; enter your payment information and submit the payment.  Once you have made your purchase, print the receipt and bring it to the Cashiering Office (Student Services Center Room 230) on or after the pickup period has begun.  Make sure you print and bring your receipt to our office or you will NOT, under ANY circumstances, be given your permit.

Reserved (R1) Parking Permits

Reserved (R1) parking permits are sold on a one-to-one ratio so you will always have a space to park.  The R1 permit is valid ONLY in the 2nd and Chestnut Street parking structure and the 2nd and Hazel Street parking lot in the stalls designated for R1 permits.

Reserved parking permits for students are are only sold on-line through our on-line parking permit e-market site. On-Campus Housing (B) Parking Permits

  • Priority period for all lottery winners to purchase spring 2015 parking permit:  Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 9:00 am through Monday, January 5, 2015 at 9:00 am
  • Permits not purchased during priority period become available to all other on-campus housing residents starting Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 9:00 am
  • Spring 2015 parking permits available for pickup beginning:  Monday, January 12, 2015 at 8:00 am

Fall Semester On-Campus Housing Parking Permits - Parking permits for on-campus housing residents are initially distributed on a lottery basis, which typically runs during the month of July; contact the Housing Office for exact dates.  All students who have a bed assignment in any residential hall are eligible to enter the lottery; contact the Housing Office if you are unsure about your eligibility.  Information regarding the lottery is sent to the student via e-mail by the Housing Office.  Lottery "winners" will be notified via e-mail with the e-market link and instructions on how to purchase their permit.  All permits not purchased by the expiration date will be released and made available for purchase by all other on-campus housing residents beginning at 9:00 am on the Tuesday following the priority period. 

Please note, on-campus housing residents can ONLY purchase on-campus housing parking permits (B permits).  Do NOT purchase a general (G) parking permit as you cannot park your vehicle on campus property overnight or you will be subject to citation.  If we are sold out of on-campus housing parking permits you will need to find off-campus parking alternatives.  University Village (UV) residents may NOT purchase a general (G) parking permit, nor are the UV parking permits valid in any of the campus parking lots.

General – student:  $121.00/semester
Reserved - student:  $197.00/semester

Motorcycle – student:  $22.00/semester

On-campus housing residents:  $191.00/semester

Summer -

General – student:  $76.00 (Summer 2014)
Motorcycle – student:  $14.00 (Summer 2014)

FACULTY & STAFF:

Fall and Spring Semesters  -

General – staff/faculty:  $72.97/semester
Motorcycle – staff/faculty:  $18.25/semester

Summer -

General – staff/faculty:  $48.00
Motorcycle – staff/faculty:  $12.00

Faculty/Staff Permits (non-expiring) -

Faculty/Staff (F/S) – calendar year, $21.62/month*
Faculty/Staff (F/S) – academic, $16.21/month*

Reserved (R, R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5) – calendar year, $50.34/month*
Reserved (R, R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5) – academic, $43.78/month*

*Faculty/staff and reserved permits are paid via payroll deduction. The deductions are spread over nine pay periods each academic year, September through May.

Refunds

General (G), Motorcycle (M), and On-campus Housing (B) Permits

  • 1st - 5th week after distribution begins: 75% of original cost
  • 6th - 9th week after distribution begins: 50% of original cost
  • 10th - 13th week after distribution begins: 25% of original cost
  • 14th week and beyond: No refund

To receive a refund for one of the above listed permits, return the parking permit to Student Financial Services, Student Services Center 230 and a check will be mailed to you.

Faculty/Staff and Reserved Permits

Payroll deductions for parking permits returned by the last business day prior to the tenth day of the calendar month will cease in that month’s pay period. No refund will be allowed for any partial month of parking privileges. If qualified, a refund will be calculated and a check mailed to you.

Permit Types & Lots

Parking regulations and frequently asked questions are published and enforced by the University Police. Parking of automobiles and motorcycles is authorized in campus-designated lots by permit only.
