Project Wise Kid Healthy Kid gives the children of our community the ability, resources
and confidence to create a product or service, while learning the basics of entrepreneurship.
This youth entrepreneurship camp runs for five consecutive weeks and targets children throughout
the community. It reaches a span of 100 children ages 9-12, while influencing over 20 university
volunteers. Each child works one on one with mentors who helps teach them basic business
concepts. The first four weeks include classes that are designed to help children develop a
business plan that will serve as a roadmap for the creation of a product or service business
through: demonstrations and discussions, accompanied by guest speakers outline key business
concepts. Upon successful completion of their business plan, they are rewarded with a capitol of
$10.

On the last day of the camp we provide each child with the opportunity to market and sell their
product or service at the Chico Farmers Market. This gives them the chance to flex their newly
acquired entrepreneur skills, reach their financial goals and connect with the local business
community. This Entrepreneurship program strives to give each child the knowledge, opportunity,
and self reliance to become more successful individuals
