I have taught in the Sociology program at CSU, Chico since 1990. Before that, I spent six years as a research faculty at University of California, San Francisco, where I worked on projects regarding AIDS prevention, and social support systems for individuals coping with addictions. While finishing my doctorate, I taught at UC, Berkeley and UC, Santa Cruz.

Teaching Background:

I have taught courses in the areas of global issues, environmental issues, families, family violence, inequalities, stress, and self and society.

Sociological Interests:

Health and social inequalities, global public health and policy, environmental problems and solutions, political economy, civic engagement and activism, families and gender
