Resume:

  • Your resume should be clear and easy to read.
  • Your resume should be focused on the position that you are applying for.
  • It should be no longer than one page, and error free.
  • Cover Letter:

  • Your cover letter should focus on the specific skills and abilities that will apply to the desired position.
  • Do not repeat in your cover letter what you already stated in your resume.
  • Make sure that it is addressed to the proper department and/or individual that is responsible for the hiring.
  • Etc:

  • Make sure that you have prepared a reference list if one becomes necessary for the interview.
  • Prepare a professional looking folder that will include copies of both your cover letter and resume, along with additional information such as references, transcripts, and research.
